Electrical
Component Engineer
As a member of cross-functional project
teams, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for contributing
to the design and development of new products and has
the primary responsibility for time, cost, quality,
and technical performance of electronic assemblies.
Additional responsibilities include quality improvements
of existing electronic assemblies, component standardization,
and to explore new technologies and solutions for future
products.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Specification, design, simulation,
prototyping, testing and documentation of electronic
assemblies such as power supplies, battery chargers,
motor controls, displays, and other control circuits
used in our products
- Specify, evaluate, and standardize
electrical and electronic components used in motor-operated
household appliances
- Provide support to manufacturing
facilities and participate in cost reduction programs
- Specify testing needed to approve
electronic assemblies and electrical components
- Ensure the electrical components
and assemblies comply with applicable regulatory requirements
Experience
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in
electrical or electronic engineering
- 5 years of relevant experience
from the consumer or the automotive industries and
detailed knowledge about the European EMC, RoHS and
WEEE Directives
- Ability to design electronic assemblies
that meets UL and CE safety regulations
- Ability to use firm and software
development tools
- Ability to use hardware simulation
and documentation tools
- Ability to use PCB layout and
documentation tools
- Ability to quickly build, debug,
and modify hardware prototypes
- Ability to analyze root cause
of assembly and component failures
- Ability to make accurate cost
estimates and recommend best technology based on cost
and volume targets
