3. Where can I find supplies, parts and accessories for my vacuum cleaner?
Note: Make sure that the replacement part is a genuine Eureka product. All genuine Eureka parts are clearly identified on the outside of the package.
You will need to know the type of vacuum you own in order to shop for the correct bags, belts and filters. The back of your owner's guide will tell you which bags fit your model. Your model number can also be found on a plate attached to the cleaner (usually on the back). You can order most Eureka parts directly from our Online Store. Eureka will ship items directly to your home (US and Canadian orders only). If you do not find the part you are looking for online, you can also find genuine Eureka parts at mass retailers and local independent vacuum stores. If you are not sure which Eureka part you need, please call Eureka at 1-800-282-2886, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 am and 7:30 pm CST and Saturday, from 10:00 pm to 6:30 pm CST.

4. What do I do if the vacuum cleaner stops?
First make sure that the vacuum cleaner is plugged in correctly and the power button is switched to the "on" position. If both of these steps are correct, you may need to check the belt to make sure it is not worn or broken and that the brush roll moves freely.
Replace the belt with a new one if it is broken or worn.
Check the filter bag to see if it is full. Replace the full bag with a new filter bag. (If you have been vacuuming up fine dust such as drywall the bag needs to be replaced more frequently.)
You may also need to check the nozzle, tube or hose for possible clogging. If any blockage has occurred remove the obstruction from the air stream.
Check to see if the filter is blocked. Clean or replace clogged filters according to the owner' manual instructions.
Be sure that the hose adapter inserts into the filter bag.
Replace the brush roll if the bristles are worn.
If, after following these steps your cleaner is still not working correctly, contact your nearest Eureka Service Center or Warranty Station for assistance. To find the nearest warranty or service location for your cleaner, go to our on-line service locator.

5. How do I change a bag, belt or filter on my cleaner?
These procedures vary from model to model. Consult your Eureka Owner's Guide for proper maintenance instructions.

6. Why are my belts breaking after a short period of time?
We recommend that you raise the height adjustment to a higher setting and avoid picking up the corners of throw rugs. You may also need to check for debris that may have wrapped around the brush roll that can cause the belt to break.

7. The main vacuum suction is fine, but the onboard tools don't draw in air or debris.
Many models have a switch that must be used to change the suction from the main vacuum to the hose attachment. Make sure this switch is set correctly. Check the hose to make sure that a foreign object hasn't blocked the airflow. As long as the setting is correct and the air passage is clear you should have good suction power.

8. My cleaner is hard to push. How do I fix this?
Check your carpet height adjustment setting and check for loose or broken belts. To find the best height adjustment setting, put the vacuum in the normal resting position. Turn the height adjustment to the highest setting. Turn on the vacuum and release the handle. Dial the setting down, one at a time, until your hear the tone change. This is the best setting for your carpet. If you change carpets, remember to adjust the setting for the new carpet. You might also check the wheels on your unit to make certain they are turning freely.

9. Why won't my vacuum turn on?
First, check to make sure it is plugged in. If that isn' t the problem, check to see if the on-off switch is stuck. If so, back off the switch nut a quarter of a turn. The last thing to try is to check to make sure the power cord receptacle is plugged into the motor housing correctly. If none of these procedures help, take it to your Eureka Warranty Station.
